Her pockets full of lichens and seeds.
— Mary Oliver

I am lucky enough to live on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest, USA. I specialize in botanical and natural history art. The natural world is full of wonder for me and I am never without inspiration for my paintings. I love to keep detailed sketch books which help in painting planning. Going for a walk I am a collector. I return with my pockets full of exciting findings such as leaves, stones, bark and anything that would look wonderful in a painting. Friends bring me old birds’ nests, shells, unusual heirloom fruits, and more, knowing I can incorporate these findings into a picture. Working in the studio whilst listening to a podcast, music or a book are all part of a wonderful meditation process that painting the natural world brings to me.
